Faculty Meet & Greet
Are you a new major to the Department? Have you ever wished for an
opportunity to introduce yourself to professors or learn about upcoming
courses before you were thrust under the pressure of maintaining a grade?
Perhaps you're just a poor college student enticed by the promise of free
refreshments? The faculty meet & greet event this Wednesday, September 10th
in Clement Hall 329 at 3:00pm is a great way to meet fellow majors, learn
more about the undergraduate club, enhance your education, and develop
closer relationships with faculty members. We invite you to grab a friend
and join us.

Spindel Around the Corner
The 27th Annual Spindel Conference is only a couple of weeks away. The
conference's theme this year will be "Race, Racism, and Liberalism in the
21st Century," and will provide a rare opportunity for scholar of African
American philosophy, race theory, and feminist theory to engage in
meaningful conversation on emerging and pressing issues concerning the
future of race talk and racism. The Philosophy Circle plans to organize a
discussion group for undergraduate who wish to attend the conference. For
more information about the discussion group, please email Adam Field at
afield@memphis.edu. For the conference schedule, visit:

Officer Openings
Running The Circle can be a demanding affair, requiring the dedication and
commitment of many talented students. But it is also an esteemed privilege,
affording undergrads the opportunity to organize events and build personal
relationships with faculty members as well as the greater philosophy
community. If you dare, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity by
visiting our website below and clicking the “Officers” link at the top.
