Welcome
We are the Philosophy Circle; a registered student organization for undergraduates of any major with an interest in philosophy. While the meaning of the term ‘philosophy’ can be quite broad and open to dispute, for our intents and purposes, it is used to denote the abstract and general inquiry into the nature of knowledge, reality, and value.
A Rough Idea
The Philosophy Circle meets throughout the fall and spring semesters to present guest speakers, host discussions, and organize reading groups. In addition to its regular meetings, the Circle hosts an annual undergraduate conference each spring that coincides with the Midsouth professional conference.
Building a Community
Because we believe the undergraduates deserve it, because we desire it, and because we believe the program at Memphis warrants it, we have made it our mission to facilitate a sense of camaraderie and friendship between students of philosophy and to initiate those new to it, enabling them to become familiar with the faculty and the program.
